🟥 Ujjaini (Red House)

  • About Ujjaini: Ujjaini (modern-day Ujjain) was one of the most prominent cities of ancient India. It was a major center for astronomy, mathematics, and literature. Famous scholars like Varāhamihira and Brahmagupta worked here.
  • Why Red?
    Red symbolizes energy, courage, and strength—qualities of pioneering scholars and warriors of knowledge. Ujjaini, with its bold intellectual history and strategic importance, fits well with the red theme.

🟨 Takshila (Yellow House)

  • About Takshila: Also known as TAKSHASHILA, Often regarded as the first university in the world, Takshashila was a hub of learning in subjects like medicine, law, military science, and philosophy. Scholars like Chanakya (Kautilya) and Panini taught here.
  • Why Yellow?
    Yellow stands for wisdom, clarity, and learning. It evokes the brightness of intellect and the light of knowledge, which Takshashila symbolized for ancient India.

🟦 Vikramshila (Blue House)

  • About Vikramshila: Established by the Pala dynasty, Vikramshila was a prominent Buddhist learning center, known for disciplines like logic, metaphysics, and Tantric Buddhism.
  • Why Blue?
    Blue signifies depth, calmness, and discipline, mirroring the spiritual and philosophical pursuits of Vikramshila’s monks and scholars. It reflects both tranquility and vast intellectual exploration.

🟩 Nalanda (Green House)

  • About Nalanda: One of the most renowned ancient universities, Nalanda attracted students from across Asia. It offered advanced education in logic, medicine, mathematics, astronomy, and more.
  • Why Green?
    Green symbolizes growth, harmony, and renewal. Nalanda was a place of flourishing ideas and cross-cultural exchange—an intellectual garden of knowledge.

Each House is under the charge of a Housemaster/mistress who, besides being a teacher and a guardian, is a link among all pupils of his/her House. On him/her rests the decision on when and where to strike a balance between curricular and co-curricular activities of an individual pupil.

He or She also ensures that pupils identify themselves completely with their respective Houses.
